Australia New South Wales police discovered 400 kilograms of ice cubes hidden in bottles of Sriracha chili sauce imported from the United States and arrested four suspects.

The amount of nearly $ 300 million worth of drugs (more than $ 200 million) was discovered in a shipment of 768 bottles of Sriracha chili sauce, New South Wales state police said on the website on October 31. According to police officer Stuart Smith, these chutneys were imported from the United States and were en route to a "secret laboratory" in Sydney.

Police arrested four 30-45-year-old men, describing them as "key members" of a criminal network and vowing to arrest the accomplices in this group. They are also working with US officials to trace the origin of the shipment.

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted a policeman as saying that the amount of the drug was confined in chili sauce "sophisticatedly", requiring both the sender and the receiver to have chemical knowledge.

The use of ice has been declining in recent years in Australia, but government statistics show that the dependence and damage caused by this drug has increased.

This is not the first time the Australian police have cleared a complex of hidden drugs. In June, $ 1.2 billion worth of drugs (nearly $ 830 million) were also discovered in music speakers shipped to Melbourne.
