The Government of Canada will provide more than 19,000 USD for each citizen killed in the Iranian shot by mistake, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated.

Trudeau said the amount of CAD 25,000 (over US $ 19,000) was spent to help the families of the victims to cover the initial cost of travel and funerals.

"I want to make it clear that we hope Iran compensates the victims. But I went to the families and understood that they could not wait. They needed immediate assistance," Trudeau said at a press conference in Ottawa. January 17.
