Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was positive for nCoV after attending a White House event and helping Trump prepare for a debate last week.

"I have just received news that I have Covid-19. I want to thank all my friends and colleagues who have been contacting me for the past day or two," said Christie on Twitter on October 3.

Christie was at the White House last weekend, during a ceremony held in the Rose Garden, when Trump nominated judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

Mr. Christie also made close contact with Trump last week to assist the President in his first debate with Democratic candidate Joe Biden, taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 29.

In addition to Christie, Trump's advisory team ahead of his first Biden debate included former White House adviser Keyllyanne Conway, Trump's close aide Hope Hicks and former New York mayor, Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

Christie, 58 years old and overweight, is one of the factors that puts him at a high risk of serious complications from nCoV, though he did not specifically state whether he had symptoms or not.
