Hubei Governor Wang Xiaodong said yesterday he felt "in pain" and was responsible for letting the disease spread. He described the current situation as being very serious and the medical supplies still scarce.

The outbreak of pneumonia caused by nCoV virus is thought to have come from a seafood and live animal market, including wildlife, in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, then spread to at least 30 localities. China and some countries like Thailand, Japan, Korea, USA, Singapore, Nepal, France and Vietnam. More than 2,000 people were infected and 80 died.

Hong Kong on January 25 declared the outbreak of Corona virus pneumonia as an "emergency" situation and issued a series of measures to prevent the spread of the disease. High-speed flights and trains linking Hong Kong with Wuhan will stop serving. The Chinese New Year holidays will continue to close until February 17 and the special education authority has asked universities to extend their leave of absence.

Chief Executive Carrie Lam said all business trips to mainland China and Chinese New Year celebrations would be canceled. However, she rejected the possibility of banning all people from mainland China from coming to Hong Kong, saying this was unrealistic.

The district government also has body temperature gauges at airports and high-speed rail terminals. All passengers arriving by speedboat and aircraft are required to fill out a health form, while an isolation area has been set up in some hospitals.
