Trump will leave the White House with record-high raise for an outgoing president and with little legal limits on how he can spend it.

President Donald Trump and Republican Party have gathered a whopping $ 250 million from loyal supporters since the November 3 election.

More than $ 60 million of that went to a new political action committee (PAC) called Save America, which Trump would control after he left office.

The large post-election donation gives Trump many options for his post-White House ambitions, such as asserting political status within the party, honoring loyal ones, paying for trips and rigs.

The money also cemented Trump's position as the top Republican fundraiser, even when he lost his election.

Trump and the Republican National Committee spent about $ 15 million on legal and other expenses related to challenging the election results from October 15 to November 23.

During the advocacy campaign, large expenditures, such as the purchase of television and digital advertisements, are conducted through a limited liability company called American Made Media Consultants.

More than $ 700 million has been transferred to American Made Media Consultants since the beginning of 2019. Lara, daughter-in-law of Trump and John, nephew of Vice President Mike Pence, served on the board of this company until she resigned.

After the election, Trump's campaign also spent $ 2.2 million on text message advertising related to a request for recount through the company.

The $ 250 million raised by Trump and the Republicans in the past six weeks is enough to pay all the remaining bills from the campaign and ineffective, legal defiance efforts, even still.

However, it is unclear how Trump's spending plan with this money will be.

Some campaign finance experts speculate that Trump may be looking to use the excess money in his new PAC to cover future personal legal costs, as he is more likely to be faced with

Meanwhile, Meredith McGehee, chief executive of Issue One, a group advocating for increased political transparency, said Trump "faces very, very, very few restrictions on how he can spend this money".

In the past five years, Trump has never avoided spending hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by advocates for services from his own businesses, an activity he could continue on when he leaves office.

Since mid-October, the Trump Victory Committee - the Trump campaign's joint fundraising committee with the Republican National Committee - has paid more than $ 710,000 for the Trump Hotel Collection, while the Trump campaign continues to pay more than 37,000

It is not clear where Trump will be headquartered for his post-White House operation and who will run it.

As a former president, Trump will be subsidized a certain amount to hire employees and offices for life.

Although Trump's post-White House political path has largely not been shaped, he has expressed a desire to continue to influence national politics, especially within Republicans.

He backed his close ally Ronna McDaniel for another term as chairman of the Republican National Committee.

A person close to Trump said he seems less certain now about his 2024 election announcement than he was two weeks ago.

Trump's future ambitions also cast a shadow over who will control some of the 2020 campaign's most valuable assets, including a long list of backers who have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to him.

"Despite losing his election, Trump is likely to play a key role in the Republican future," said Whit Ayres, the Republican pollster.
