The Iranian Ministry of Health found the first two people infected with the corona virus in the country in Qom city, south of Tehran.

"The Health Minister confirmed two cases of nCoV infection in Qom city," Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei announced today on Twitter. Rabiei did not specify which countries they were but local media reported they were Iranians.

Iranian Ministry of Health spokesman Kianoush said the two patients had been quarantined.

With the new case recorded in Iran, the Covid-19 outbreak has appeared in 28 countries and territories after its outbreak in Wuhan, China in December 2019. 2,010 people were killed, more than 75,000 were infected and nearly 15,000 were cured. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the first country in the Middle East to report nCoV infections last month.
