Philippines Series of content to compete at SEA Games 30 may be delayed, canceled or athletes must compete without spectators due to Typhoon Kammuri.

"We hope there will be no damage, but this is unavoidable with the strength of Typhoon Kammuri," Philippines National Disaster spokesman Mark Timbal said today.

SEA Games 30 Organizing Committee canceled the windsurfing content to ensure safety, while triathlon content was held earlier than planned. Each game content is supervised by a delegation of the organizers, they will be responsible for making decisions to postpone or cancel the competition.

SEA Games 30 executive director Ramon Suzara confirmed that the Philippines has a storm backup plan, but the sports festival will not last longer than planned. "With subjects like basketball and volleyball, competitions will take place as planned without the audience. This has been done in the past," director Suzara added.

Hurricane Kammuri is expected to hit the Philippines tonight or early tomorrow morning with a gust of winds over 185 km / h, causing heavy rain and the risk of floods and landslides. The storm will then sweep across areas near Manila, home to a population of 13 million and take part in many events of SEA Games 30.
