Covid-19 continued to spread rapidly across the globe, particularly in Europe and the United States, bringing the number of cases to nearly 800,000, of which nearly 38,000 died.

The world recorded 782,034 cases of nCoV and 37,609 deaths in 200 countries and territories. Europe accounts for about two-thirds of the deaths with 26,674 deaths recorded. Italy reported the largest number of deaths with 11,591.

The US recorded 18,089 additional cases and 412 deaths, bringing the number of infections and deaths to 161,580 and 2,995, respectively, continuing to be the largest epidemic area in the world. New York was the most heavily affected state with 66,497 cases, of which 1,218 died.

The capital of Madrid and the region of Catalonia are the two localities with the highest number of deaths due to nCoV in Spain, 3,392 and 1,410 respectively.

Health officials say the rate of new infections and deaths in Spain has decreased in recent days, suggesting that Covid-19 may peak in the country soon. The rate of death gains in Spain yesterday was 12.4%, down more than half compared to 27% on March 25.

Spain imposed a nationwide blockade on March 14 and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on March 28 announced further stricter restrictions, forcing workers in non-essential fields to stay at home. in the next 14 days.

Iran has closed schools, canceled prayer services, closed parliament and major Shiite Muslim pilgrimage sites. Iran also imposed strict measures after hundreds of thousands of people still poured into the streets to welcome the Persian New Year. The Iranian Ministry of Health has repeatedly called on people to report information as well as suspected symptoms of nCoV infection.

China and South Korea have not released new figures. The number of domestic infections in these two countries has decreased over the past time, but there has been an increase in foreign cases.

In Southeast Asia, Malaysia is the largest epidemic area with 2,626 cases and 37 deaths. Indonesia is the deadliest region in the region with 122 deaths among 1,414 infected people, with a mortality rate of 8.6%.

The Philippines and Thailand both recorded more than 1,500 cases, but the deaths in these two countries were quite different, respectively 78 and 9. Covid-19 appeared in all 11 countries of Southeast Asia.
