An additional 766 people died of nCoV in Italy, up slightly from 760 the day before, bringing the total to 14,681 and the highest in the world, nearly 4.5 times the number China reported, with more than 3,300 people. Two new studies show that the number of deaths from nCoV in Italy may be higher than reported because many people died without being tested and therefore not included in the list. Among them, many elderly people die at home or nursing homes.

Italy was the first Western country to issue a nationwide blockade order because of Covid-19, requiring people to stay home and close non-essential businesses. Italian health experts said the measures to blockade were effective, but the country wasted too much time before, causing many deaths.

Some countries such as Russia, China and Vietnam have supported Italy masks and medical supplies to prevent epidemics. Russia, China and Cuba have sent medical experts to Italy, while Germany has received and treated some patients with nCoV from the country.

Covid-19 originated in China in December 2019, appeared more than 200 countries and territories with more than one million cases of nCoV, nearly 57,000 deaths and more than 226,000 have recovered.
