The state of Maharashtra, western India, is the center of Covid-19 nationwide, with 22,171 cases and 4,199 deaths.

The number of new infections has risen to a record despite the world's second most populous country, which has quickly imposed strict blockades on 1.3 billion people since March 25, when 60 cases and 10 deaths were recorded.

India is gradually easing restrictive measures to prevent Covid-19, which allows the railway lines to resume operation soon.

Covid-19 has appeared in more than 210 countries and territories, causing more than 4.1 million infections, nearly 284,000 deaths and nearly 1.5 million recovering.
