This woman falsely falsified her identity and forged documents to apply for the position of information director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Cabinet of South Australia's government in 2017. The salary for this position was 185,000 USD / year.

Theriault worked in this position for more than a month and received 22,500 USD before being discovered fraud.

The indictment said Theriault had submitted a résumé with inaccurate information about his education and work experience. After going through the interview, she also pretended to be the "old boss", commented "all words" about her performance.

Theriault also used a photo of supermodel Kate Upton to make a picture in the resume. When employed by the South Australian state government, she also recruited her younger brother to work, though this person was not eligible to work. The human resources department became suspicious of Theriault after discovering that her mental health had worsened.

Judge Boylan said he took into account Theriault's mental health issues when reviewing the verdict, but added that the defendant had planned his fraudulent actions.

The defense lawyer for Theriault said she was "extremely embarrassed" because of her actions. The court also said that Theriault had made false statements to apply for jobs at two companies in 2012 and 2014.
