Spain recorded an additional 1,063 nCoV infections in a day, bringing the total number of people infected nationwide to 4,209.

The Spanish Ministry of Health said today it also recorded 34 more deaths from the disease, bringing the total number of deaths nationwide to 120.

La Sexta TV channel said the Spanish government will declare a national emergency due to the outbreak of Covid-19. La Sexta added that the government would issue a level one warning in a three-level ladder. This situation will last for 15 days and allow the government to take broad measures including blockading people or ordering evacuation.

Spanish Equity Minister Irene Montero was confirmed yesterday positive for nCoV, while her mate, Deputy Prime Minister Pablo Iglesias was isolated.

The country's government has announced a postponement of all football matches at the top two leagues for two weeks due to widespread disease concerns. Schools in Catalonia, Basque, Galicia and Murcia counties will be closed for two weeks. Schools in the Madrid area have been shut down before.
