Instead of stopping to solve the accident, Chen sped up and rushed through the next intersection on Daduhe and Jinshajiang, about 100 meters away. His car passed a red light, hitting a car turning right after hitting three electric bicycles and a few pedestrians.

Surveillance video posted online shows the white car running on Jinshajiang Road before passing a red light and then crossing the second intersection, hitting moving vehicles and pedestrians on Daduhe Road. A total of 5 people died and 9 were injured after two consecutive stabs caused by Chen.

Police said Chen was a local, having just left his son's house at 9 o'clock in his daughter-in-law's car. He is one of those injured and being in intensive care.

Police are conducting an investigation but believe alcohol or drugs are not the cause of the accident.
