The current number of people infected with the pneumonia virus in mainland China has exceeded the number of people infected with SARS. The 2002-2003 SARS pandemic spread to 5,327 people in mainland China for 9 months and killed 349 people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Chinese health authorities say they are monitoring more than 9,000 suspected virus infections. The number of people infected with the virus has increased sharply, though Beijing is confident it will be able to prevent the disease.

Pneumonia caused by a new strain of the corona family (nCoV) began in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province of China. The epidemic has now spread to Thailand, Japan, Korea, USA, Singapore, Nepal, France, Canada and Vietnam.

In the face of the complicated pandemic of Wuhan pneumonia, China has been refurbishing the Xiaoyunshan Hospital in Beijing over the past few days. It is a hospital on the outskirts of Beijing, used for quarantine and treatment of SARS patients in 2003 and was converted into a treatment room in 2012.

The WHO report published late January 26 evaluates the risks from nCoV pneumonia as "very high in China, high in the region and globally", but has not yet been considered an emergency. . Many countries have been planning to evacuate citizens from China. Japan this morning brought 200 citizens, while the United States brought 240 citizens, leaving Wuhan by air.
