Trump often likes to appear on the red carpet in front of the press and friends at the annual New Year's Eve party, so it is considered an unusual move for him to ignore the event this year.

In the President's daily public schedule on December 31, the White House said that the President and First Lady Melania Trump will leave Florida at 11 a.m. (11 p.m. Hanoi) to return to the White House.

During his time in Florida, Trump completely focused on efforts to reverse the election results and the upcoming electoral votes certification meeting in parliament, scheduled for January 6.

The National Assembly session on January 6 is usually only procedural, where the President of the Senate (chaired by the vice president) will open the electoral votes of each state for the members of the parliament to confirm.

However, the January 6, 2021 parliamentary session attracted the attention of public opinion, as Trump and his allies were planning to have Republican MPs and senators submit written petitions against the vote.

According to many sources, Trump was always irritable during his vacation in Florida and worried about everything from election results to the renovation of First Lady Melania's private residence.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley became the first senator to say he would support a plan to oppose the certification of electoral votes in parliament.

Trump also tweeted that he would meet with supporters in Washington on Jan. 6, suggesting major protests planned in the capital.
