At a press conference on May 11, when two reporters protested against Trump and the third refused to cooperate, Trump abruptly stopped the meeting and left.

It was an unexpected conclusion for a press conference at the Rose Garden at the White House, an event that Trump hoped would be a good opportunity to promote himself.

What the US President did not expect was the rare cooperation between members of the White House press group, who did not accept Trump's "playing by the law" who often dodged answering a difficult reporter's question.

The turning point of the press conference on 11/5 took place when Cij News reporter Weijia Jiang asked Trump.

"Why is this so important? Why is it a global competition for you, while many Americans still die from disease every day and we still witness new cases?", Jiang

"The dead are all over the world. Maybe that's the question you should ask China, don't ask me, ask China that, okay," Trump told the Chinese-speaking reporter from West Virginia.

He quickly ended the conversation with Jiang by pointing to Kaitlan Collins, but this CNN correspondent did not speak, but waited for CBS colleagues to continue her question.

"Sir, why are you saying that to me alone?" Jiang asked, referring to her background.

"That's not an annoying question. Why is that?", Jiang continued to question.

At this point, Trump seemed to decide to punish Collins by ignoring her and calling Yamiche Alcindor, the PBS correspondent, to ask questions, despite CNN's objection.

This time, it was Alcindor's turn to refuse to ask Trump a question and motioned to Collins to continue asking.

Trump later accused the three female reporters' behavior of being evidence of a conspiracy against him.

Intercept commentator Robert Mackey said Trump's conduct at the press conference not only showed that he lacked confidence in handling the Covid-19 crisis but was also annoyed with tough questions from female reporters.

Trump's failure to answer Jiang's question also showed that he was seeking to distract Americans from the delayed response to the pandemic with irrelevant or misleading statistics.

The figures not shown on these signs are how many governors have asked for equipment, or how many of their citizens have been infected or killed by nCoV, the virus that Trump said in February.

At a press conference in Rose Garden on May 11, Trump also reiterated a statement from mid-April that the United States, along with Germany, was one of the two countries with the lowest number of nCoV deaths per capita.

However, Trump seems to have ignored the fact that more than 130 other countries in the world have a lower per capita death rate than the US, of which Germany has a much lower rate.

According to commentator Mackey, this means that if the Trump administration succeeds in protecting the lives of its citizens like Germany, the death toll in the US will not be more than 80,000 today, but just over 30,000.
