Officials have announced a tsunami warning after an earthquake of 6.9 degrees with mindfulness near the ground off Northern Island of New Zealand today.

US Geological Surveying Agency (USGS) said the earthquake was 180 km northeast of Gisborne city, at 2:27 on March 5 (20h27 on 4/3 hours of Hanoi) with the mind of depth

"Based on preliminary earthquake parameters, dangerous tsunami can occur to the coast within 300 km from the mind", the Pacific Tsunami warning center is based in Hawaii

New Zealand National Emergency Response Agency said they are evaluating whether the earthquake has caused tsunami affecting the country.

The earthquake occurred just over a week after New Zealand celebrated the 10th anniversary of the 6.3-degree earthquake that occurred in Christchurch in February 22, 2011, causing 185 people to kill and thousands of people were injured.
