The Russian army discovered that Turkish artillery supported the rebels and attacked the Syrian army, so they attacked Su-24.

Zvezda TV channel of the Russian military yesterday released images of Turkish self-propelled artillery battle fired at the location of the Syrian government army in the town of Nayrab, east of Idlib province, northwest of the country.

Video taken from the Russian Forpost drone shows four T-155 self-propelled artillery systems on the Turkish battlefield, constantly firing to support the National Liberation Front's rebels ( NLF) and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are backed by Ankara aimed at the Syrian army position.

Shortly thereafter, Russia deployed the Su-24 offensive group to launch strikes against the rebel group, blocking the attack of these militants, helping the Syrian government army to protect the position.

"The shelling wounded four Syrian soldiers and ended as soon as Moscow issued a notification to Ankara," the Russian Defense Ministry said after the Su-24 airstrike.

Turkey's Ministry of Defense announced two soldiers were killed and five wounded in an air raid in Idlib province, but did not specify which side was taken. Ankara claimed that 50 Syrian soldiers were killed in the retaliatory attack, along with five tanks, two armored vehicles, two armed pickups and one destroyed cannon.

Syrian government troops began a campaign against the last rebel-controlled territory in Idlib province on January 27. The campaign to retake Idlib was launched after a truce agreed by Russia and Turkey on January 12 broke down.

Turkey deployed about 5,000 soldiers and many tanks and armored vehicles to Idlib to prevent the advance of the Syrian government army, in the context of many Turkish observation posts here are surrounded.
