The Detroit lawyers asked the judge to fine the Trump campaign for spreading "false information" about the certification of the election results in Michigan.

The US President Trump's re-election campaign on November 19 announced that he had "voluntarily" withdrawed his lawsuit against the election results in Michigan because election officials in this state "had a meeting and refused to pay the public.

In fact, Republicans on the Wayne County electoral board refused to recognize the Nov. 17 results, but quickly changed their decision due to public opposition.

Detroit City attorneys on November 19 said the Trump campaign's filing contained "inappropriate and false language", and asked the judge to remove the disputed material from the record.

The Detroit group of lawyers did not request a fine for the Trump campaign, but said judge Janet Neff had "the authority to handle the documents in the file as a penalty".

Mark "Thor" Hearne, the Trump campaign attorney, who filed the cases in court, said the Detroit bar group's request for punishment was "frivolous".

Nearly two weeks after Joe Biden was announced by the media as President-elect, Trump has remained flat and has continued to push for legal efforts to prevent Biden's victory in states like Nevada, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

However, Trump's legal war has been seen as "absurd", while Republicans and Democrats have urged his administration to quickly turn power over to Biden.
