Chinese President Xi Jinping warned the country is facing a "serious situation" when the acute pneumonia "spreads faster and faster".

"Facing a serious situation when the new Corona virus is spreading more and more rapidly ... the centralized and unified leadership of the Central Committee of the Party should be strengthened," said Xinhua Central News Agency. now quoted Xi said.

The comments come as the Chinese government is trying to implement a series of measures to prevent acute pneumonia caused by Corona virus.

The outbreak of Corona virus pneumonia (nCoV) first appeared in Wuhan City, the capital of Hubei Province, but later spread to at least 30 regions and provinces in China. Up to now, 41 people have been killed and 1,300 people infected throughout China. Wuhan pneumonia also occurs in Thailand, Japan, Korea, the United States, Singapore, Nepal, France and Vietnam.

Beijing on January 25 announced that it would suspend buses going in and out of the city, besides closing some famous tourist attractions and canceling many large-scale New Year events.

"As long as there is a steadfast belief, working together, preventing and treating scientifically, and at the same time implementing the correct policies, we will surely win this war," said the President. Xi confirmed to the Standing Committee of the Chinese Politburo.
