Earlier, Biden asked the director and deputy director of the Social Security Agency to resign, but only the Deputy David Black agreed to apply, while Saul decided not to follow the President's request.

Both Saul and Black are two officials appointed under President Donald Trump

After firing Saul, Biden appointed Kilolo Kijakazi, in charge of policy for retirement and disabled people, making the right to lead the Social Security Agency while looking for two new leaders.

In the interview with Washington Post, Saul said he did not intend to resign and ask if the White House fired he was legal or not.

The decision to dismiss Saul also caused President Biden to encounter the opposition of Republican leaders.

The previous Biden government has tried to eliminate many officials appointed under Trump in government agencies and councils.
