The Indonesian Navy arrested the ship Strovolos and the crew wanted for theft of nearly 300,000 crude oil barrels owned by Cambodia.

The Indonesian Navy today said the Strovolos carried Bahamian flag was arrested on July 27 off the Sumatra coast, a few days after Cambodia played the red announcement to request international criminal police (Interpol) to arrest the ship for stealing

The Indonesian Navy is interrogating the crew consisting of 13 Indians, three Bangladesh and three Myanmars at the base near Singapore.

The Indonesian Navy said before being arrested, the 183-meter tanker traveled from Thailand to Batam Island of Indonesia, turning off illegal identification and anchoring system in the sea of the country.

Officials said the ship was hired by Singapore's oil and oil company to contain oil, part of Cambodia's recent oil exploitation effort.
