The EU ambassador affirmed that no one stops this alliance to make a statement, but it does not want to escalate the stress with China.

Chapuis declared the statement after China put some EU MPs and entities on the blacklist, responding to this block imposed on sanctions with Chinese officials for alleging "Violation of human rights in Tan

The European Commission (EC), the EU executive agency, is stopping efforts to promote a comprehensive investment agreement on investment (CAI) with China when stressed between the two sides escalating.

However, Chapuis said the situation with the agreement was not completely gloomy.

The EU ambassador to China Nicolas Chapuis spoke in a meeting in Beijing January 2020.

Chapuis said nothing prevents China to approve the agreement in advance before the EU, while expressing his wish that the country soon through Cai Song needs to create a "political space" for the European Parliament to approve.

Speaking at the reception after Chapuis's commentary, Chinese Foreign Minister Qinshan said the two sides needed to promote the investment agreement soon.
