Minister Bui Thanh Son said that Vietnam won the UN Human Rights Council is very important in many aspects, contributing to affirming Vietnam's policies and views on particularly attaching importance to and promoting the effectiveness of cause and effect.

During the vote on October 11 at the UN headquarters in New York, the US, the UN General Assembly chose 14 countries as members of the Human Rights Council for the term 2023-2025, including Vietnam.

The remaining 13 countries became a new member of the UN Human Rights Council for the term 2023-2025 including Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Gruzia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Moroco, Romania, South Africa and Sudan.
