The pandemic makes the health care system in Latin America and Caribbe become overloaded, when the people in countries in the area are struggling through the day and cannot apply blockade orders.

More than a million people died from Covid-19 in Latin America and Caribe as of May 21, the region with the highest per capita mortality rate in the world.
