Norway is considering reducing the amount of electricity sold to Europe if the water level at these national hydropower reservoirs remains low.

The government prioritizes filling the hydroelectric reservoirs when the water level is very low, the Norwegian energy minister Terje Aasland, said on August 8.

According to Aasland, Norwegian energy set this week will work to set up the framework for such a mechanism as soon as possible.

90% of Norway's electricity comes from hydroelectricity.
