As of July 13, the Netherlands recorded nearly 52,000 cases of the week, an increase of more than 500% compared to the time the government lifted most of the limited measures on June 26, when the vaccine campaign helped reduce the rate of infection.

The number of rapid growth cases forced the Netherlands government to re-impose limited measures with nightclubs, festivals and restaurants.
