Iran: A 103-year-old woman recovered from nCoV infection and was discharged from the hospital, although the elderly were the most likely group to die.

She spent a week in Semnan, central Iran. She was "discharged from hospital after a full recovery," Semnan Navid Danayi Medical University president told IRNA news agency on March 17 but did not provide the patient's identity.

She is the second elderly patient to survive the nCoV infection in Iran. The other is a 91-year-old man in Kerman, in southeastern Iran. After having had symptoms for three days, he recovered on March 16 despite a background condition including high blood pressure and asthma.

Covid-19 appears in 170 countries and territories, causing more than 204,000 people to be infected, more than 8,200 deaths and more than 82,000 people recover. Iran recorded more than 17,000 cases, more than 1,100 deaths and more than 5,300 recover.

WHO this month estimates a global death rate of 3.4%. But for the 80-year-old group, the death rate was 21.9%, according to a WHO report conducted in conjunction with the Chinese authorities.
