Medical officials in Xinjiang, China, on October 25 announced the discovery of more than 100 cases of nCoV infection in Kashgar City, all with no symptoms.

All 137 new infections involving a 17-year-old female patient were identified in a village in Sister Fuyu district yesterday.

This is the largest outbreak on record in China following an outbreak of nCoV infection in Beijing's capital wholesale market in June.

The 17-year-old case was discovered thanks to the periodic health check mechanism.

According to Gu, a total of 4.75 million people will be tested and 2.8 million samples have been collected as of this afternoon.

After the first case on October 24, the city government immediately issued a travel restriction, canceled flights, and stopped public transport.
