Driver Maurice Robinson is on an international line to transport illegal immigrants from the end of 2018, according to the British prosecutor.

"The suspect is part of a global network to bring large numbers of illegal immigrants into the UK. He has been active since December 2018," prosecutor Iguyovwe Oghenerouna said today in his first hearing. Maurice Robinson, but did not say whether the 39 deaths in containers on October 23 were related to the line.

The trial of Robinson, the driver of a container truck carrying 39 victims, began this afternoon at the Chelmsford Institutional Criminal Court, northeast of London. The suspect faces 39 charges of manslaughter, two charges of human trafficking and one charge of money laundering. Robinson appeared via online video to confirm her name and residential address, but did not show any attitude when hearing the crime announcement.

Thirty-one men and eight women were found dead in a frozen container at the Waterglade industrial park, Grays town, early October 23. British authorities initially believed the victims were Chinese, but authorities were investigating suspected victims of non-Chinese nationality. The Vietnamese diplomatic agency is working closely with the British authorities, sharing information during the investigation to identify the victims.

After arrest and interrogation Robinson, British police on October 25 arrested three other suspects related to the deaths of 39 victims. All three suspects paid bail for bail.
