An over 30-year-old patient in San Antonio, Texas, died after attending a "Covid-19 party" because he thought that nCoV was just a "scam".

"Someone is diagnosed with nCoV and then they will hold a party, invite a friend over, see who can beat the disease," said Dr. Appleby.

Appleby said before he died, the patient told the nurse he knew he had "made a mistake".

"People who initially go to the hospital don't look so bad. They don't seem too sick. But when they check oxygen levels and do tests, they're actually much weaker than they look," Appleby said.

Bexar County, home to the city of San Antonio, has seen a surge in the number of cases and hospitalizations for nCoV since mid-June. At least 175 people in Bexar have died from Covid-19.

More than 210 countries and territories have appeared Covid-19, causing more than 12.8 million infected, nearly 568,000 deaths.
