More than 300 Vietnamese citizens stranded in Taiwan due to Covid-19 returning home on a flight landing at Tan Son Nhat airport today.

The Vietnamese authorities cooperated with the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei and the Taiwan authorities organized the flight to safely bring more than 300 Vietnamese citizens from Taiwan to Vietnam today.

Passengers on the flight include those trapped by Covid-19 and have special circumstances such as elderly people, students under 18 years of age, contract expiring workers, women with multiple months of pregnancy, people with background illness

In order to ensure the health of citizens, prevent the spread of diseases, the airline has strictly implemented measures on security, safety and hygiene epidemiology during the flight.

In recent months, Vietnam has welcomed thousands of citizens returning from many countries such as the US, Japan, South Korea, African countries, and South Asia.

Covid-19 has appeared in more than 210 countries and territories, making more than 14.6 million infected, more than 609,000 dead and nearly 8.8 million recovering.
