Kyodo news agency of Japan on June 28 reported local authorities honored the cat Koko and five others, after the cat instructed to save a man who fell down a canal in Toyama, Chubu region, Honshu island

Around 19:30 pm on June 16, a 77-year-old lady was walking when she saw her neighbor Koko's cat staring at a nearby canal and acting strangely.

She called her 48-year-old daughter and three others, Tomoko Nitta, 45, the owner of the Koko cat, the daughter Nitta, 20, and her son, 18, to rescue the man who had fallen into the canal.

"I want to say that she is good at detecting the man who fell into the canal and helping to rescue him," Nitta said, holding Koko in his arms.
