After receiving the information, police quickly arrived at the scene and took the victim to a nearby hospital. The girl suffered severe burns and continued to be transferred to the higher level hospital due to the critical condition.

The incident occurred when the victim was going to court to attend the rape trial where she was the victim. In March, she was raped by five men on her own and filed a lawsuit in court. Three of them were arrested but on bail, and two escaped.

Police have arrested the whole group of suspects.

The incident continues to stir up indignation throughout India, as the public has not been shocked by the killing of a veterinarian a week ago. The 27-year-old victim was raped collectively and then burned alive on November 27 and four perpetrators pleaded guilty.

Sexual rape and violence against women in India has come under the spotlight since the death of a female student in New Delhi in 2012. Officials tighten punishment for rape offenses but show no signs. Which shows that the violence against women is in remission.

According to the latest Indian government figures, nearly 33,660 rapes were recorded in 2017, the average of 62 cases per day.
