Spain declared a state of emergency and imposed curfew throughout the country, with the exception of the Canary Islands, to prevent the second Covid-19 wave.

A new emergency will last until early May 2021, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced today.

Urgent measures have been introduced in response to calls from regions in Spain asking for the right to impose a curfew against the rapidly growing number of nCoV infections.

Spain, the fifth largest epidemic zone in the world, on October 21 became the first European country to record more than one million CoV infections.

Covid-19 outbreak in December 2019, appeared in 213 countries and territories with more than 43 million cases, nearly 1.2 million deaths, and more than 31.7 million people recovered.
