It is unclear whether the group of thieves had planned to bring the car to the new garage or simply left it there because of a stir in the Russian media. No suspects have been arrested.

ZIS-115 was a limousine manufactured in 1949-1955 for high-ranking Soviet officials. The armor of the vehicle is very thick, able to withstand FMJ rifle bullets from a distance of 25 meters or a grenade explosion under the vehicle.

This version includes only 50 cars and the stolen vehicle was once used by the late leader Joseph Stalin, estimated to be worth about $ 2.8 million.

The car is believed to be owned by the head of the security forces for Ukrainian businessman Ruslan Tarpan and he is under house arrest. The car has not been running for 10 years and has no registration.
