A German laboratory was found to misdiagnose 58 out of 60 nCoV tests, after a hospital questioned the results and re-tested.

"It is not always possible to recheck a positive result in a timely manner due to the high sample count and lack of equipment," chief executive Gabriele Schoen told local daily Muenchner Merkur on October 28.

He said the laboratory's conventional reagent supplier did not deliver on time, forcing them to use alternative reagents that are incompatible with the testing system.

It is not possible to determine whether other German laboratories have had the same problem.

Covid-19 appeared in 215 countries and territories, infecting more than 44.3 million people, more than 1.17 million deaths, and 32.4 million recovery.

Like other European countries, cases in Germany are rising again in recent weeks.
