Thai protesters today marched to ask the government to take further action to help sellers of seafood affected by Covid-19.

Thailand discovered a new outbreak of Covid-19 last week at a shrimp shop on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Seafood sellers report that business has declined significantly since the outbreak.

"We want the government to build confidence in shrimp consumption," said Piyarat Chongthep, a protester participant in front of the Government Office in Bangkok.

"The problem now is that there is no market," added a small trader selling shrimp to participate in the protest.

The Thai government ministers on the same day said they are making efforts to promote and promote seafood consumption.

Thailand currently records more than 6,000 Covid-19 infections and 60 deaths, a relatively low rate for this country of 70 million people.
