The US recorded more than 60,000 infections and more than 1,000 deaths from nCoV, the highest daily increase since Covid-19 broke out in the country.

60.209 new cases of nCoV were reported by US states yesterday, a record increase in 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,991,351, according to statistics from Johns Hopkins University based in Maryland.

Meanwhile, according to real-time statistics site Worldometer, nCoV cases and deaths in the US are currently 3,097,084 and 133,972, respectively.

Officials say hospitals in some parts of the country are at risk of being overloaded, with many states severely affected after the restrictions on viruses were removed.

New York remains the state with the largest number of cases with more than 423,000 cases, California more than 282,000 cases, while cases in Texas, Florida also exceeded 200,000.

Although Covid-19 was complicated, President Donald Trump's administration on July 6 unexpectedly announced that it would not allow foreign students to stay in the US if all of the classes they took were transferred.

The White House repeatedly says that the reduced US Covid-19 mortality rate is evidence of effective government anti-epidemic actions.

Covid-19 has appeared in more than 210 countries and territories, causing more than 11.9 million infections and nearly 547,000 deaths.
