President Trump accused the media and Democrats of fabricating the fact that he despised American soldiers dying in battle.

"They will say everything, like their recent lies about me and the military. I hope they are not exposed ... But #MAGA knows all", US President Donald Trump on September 6 wrote on

The statement was made by Trump after Atlantic magazine editor Jeffrey Goldberg on September 3 published an article citing four unnamed sources saying that Trump did not want to make a visit to the Aisne-Marne cemetery near Paris's capital.

According to the article, Trump thinks visiting the cemetery is not important.

The reason Trump gave the decision to cancel the trip at the last minute was because it was raining, the helicopters could not take off, and the Secret Service could not drive him there.

In another conversation, Trump said that 1,800 American Marines who died in the battle of Belleau Forest were "pathetic men" for being killed.

Belleau Forest was an important battle with the Allies in World War I. Here, the US Marines fought with the allies to prevent the Germans from entering France.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden calls Trump's comments on soldiers killed in action "an insult", if true.

Secretary of Defense Robert Wilkie on the same day echoed Defense Secretary Mark Esper's comment last week when he left an interview with CNN channel that President Trump always respects the soldiers and he has never heard of the President.
