"I did a great job for the Republicans. We have the greatest economy in history and then we rebuilt it, so solid foundation that no country can compete," said the former general.

The CPAC event was Trump's first speech since leaving the White House, in which he criticized the administration of President Joe Biden and Republicans who criticized him.

Before the speech, Trump won the CPAC poll, with 55% of respondents saying they would vote for him in the presumptive 2024 Republican primary ballot.

In a poll without Trump, DeSantis leads with 43% support, Noem behind with 11%.
