Trump's two sons responded in Twitter posts after the US Senate decided to pardon the former president.

"No guilt. Now, senators are probably better off stopping the free broadcasting of the trials, and really starting to work on change for the American people," said Donald Trump Jr.

Meanwhile, Eric Trump, Trump's second son, posted a brief "2-0" tweet, seemingly implying that both impeachment of the former president ended with an acquittal in the US Senate.

Trump's daughter Ivanka and wife Melania have not yet responded to the results of impeachment against the former president for the second time.

The US Senate on the afternoon of February 13 (February 14 morning, Hanoi) voted 57 yes and 43 votes against the allegation of Trump inciting riot in the parliament building earlier last month.

Trump then issued a statement supporting the results of the vote, saying that the impeachment charge "is just another stage of the biggest witch hunt in American history", and hinted at the possibility of continuing a career in politics.

Commenting on the incident, US President Joe Biden called on people to defend democracy and "stay alert".

Trump is the first US president to be impeached twice.
