WHO senior officials warn global people will have to learn how to live with nCoV because it can last forever.

"This virus can become a common virus in the community and it can never disappear," he added.

But he emphasized figuring out how to defeat the virus is an opportunity for humanity to take a big step, by finding vaccines and widely available.

Covid-19 originated in Wuhan, China in December 2019, appeared in 212 countries and territories, causing more than 4.4 million infections, nearly 298,000 deaths and about 1.6 million recovering.

More than half the world's population has been imposed blockade orders since the crisis began.

"Many countries want to remove the measures," said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
