Shanghai last week recorded 6 Covid-19 cases, raising concerns about a new outbreak and forcing hundreds of people isolated.

New cases include a hospital employee and 5 logistics staff at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Case of medical staff, belonging to the Hospital Center of Shanghai Song Giang District, was reported on August 18, while the airport shifts were recorded on August 20 and August 21.

Director of Wu Jinglei City Health Commission yesterday said more than 700 people were put into isolation to prevent the risk of spreading viruses.

According to the Chinese National Health Commission, as of August 21, the country was injected with 1,94 billion doses of Vaccine Covid-19.

More than 80% of adults in Beijing and Shanghai have adequate vaccines, meaning both cities have achieved technical immunity.

Before Shanghai, the outbreak of Covid-19 started from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, last month, forced officials with many provinces and cities across China to tighten quarantine measures.
