Mrs. Harris arrived in Singapore on August 22, starting the first visit to Southeast Asia of an incumbent US vice president.

The reason I'm here by the US is a global leadership country, and we take on that role seriously, US Vice President stressed.

Singapore is Mrs. Harris's first stop during a week in Asia.

Harris was awarded a flower pot called her as an expression for Singapore's orchids diplomacy.

Ms. Harris intermediatedly with Singapore President Halimah Yacob and met Singapore Ministers at the Government Building before helping press conferences with Prime Minister Ly Hien Long.

Prime Minister Ly Hien Long said he had a great discussion with Mrs. Harris, emphasizing that the two sides reaffirmed their tight and long-term partnerships.

I also appreciate the positive American role in Asia - Pacific, especially in Southeast Asia and our common support for a stable international order, based on rules and laws

Singapore Prime Minister also expressed his desire to provide the Singapore Air Force versatile aircraft to help the US implement the evacuation campaign for refugees from Afghanistan.

After Singapore, Mrs. Harris will go to Hanoi, marking the first visit of an entrance American Vice President to Vietnam.
