Pence and his cabinet could trigger the 25th Amendment to immediately deprive Trump of power, if fears the US continues to be in riot.

Capitol Hill "fell" on Jan. 6 when crowds of supporters of President Donald Trump protested riot and interrupted a session to confirm election results raised concerns about the prospect of worse than two.

If Trump continues the ominous moves to stay in the White House, observers say there is a way for top officials in the administration to deprive him of power: activate Article 4 of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

According to the 25th Amendment, if the vice president and a majority of the ministers in the US cabinet agree that the president "cannot assume powers and responsibilities", the vice president will come to power.

This 1967 Amendment was never triggered to take the power of a US president.

After riots engulfed Capitol Hill on January 6, the idea was once again launched.

In addition, some members of parliament proposed a second recall consideration to make Trump leave the White House before January 20 and unable to assume any federal office in the future.

Article 4 empowers some of the top officials in the US government to judge the president "cannot assume powers and responsibilities".

The US Cabinet currently has 15 ministers, including: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller, Acting Justice Department Jeffrey Rosen, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, Secretary of the Interior

To trigger Article 4 Amendment 25, Vice President Pence needs at least eight of the 15 ministers to sign a document declaring Trump incapable of holding the presidency.

After they send this joint statement to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate President Chuck Grassley, Trump will be stripped of power and Pence will immediately become acting president.

In the case of Trump being stripped of power, Article 4 The 25th Amendment also provided him with a way to regain power.

Trump had to first send his own written statement to Pelosi and Grassley to deny his inability to assume the presidency.

Congress then has 21 days to consider.

However, Trump has only 14 days in office before officially handing over the White House to Joe Biden on January 20.

As a result, observers say activating Article 4 of the 25th Amendment could be the fastest way to deprive Trump of power for the remainder of his term, if Pence and at least eight cabinet ministers want to choose the option.
