The military authorities have ordered the civil servant to return to work, threatened action, and suspended laws that restrict security forces from arresting suspects or searching homes.

The Myanmar army on February 1 arrested State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, the actual leader of the Southeast Asian nation, and high-ranking officials in the elected government, on allegations of fraud in the election.

The Association for Supporting Political Prisoners, a group that conducts surveillance operations, says more than 384 people have been detained since the coup occurred earlier this month.
