The investigation report said former Rosrezerv official bought and sold four MiG-31 heavy fighters in 2007 to benefit himself.

At that time, Rosrezerv decided to auction several unused parts in the warehouse, including many steel bars and metal fragments.

Prosecutors revealed Silyakov was the only person who knew that the packages were four full MiG-31 fighters, not scrap metal.

4 MiG-31 jets were sold to a company owned by close friend Silyakov for about 2.14 USD / unit.

Prosecutors claim the action cost the Russian government about $ 14 million in damages.

The family of former official Rosrezerv confirmed that he would appeal, his wife said that this was a conspiracy designed to harm Silyakov.

The MiG-31 is one of the most advanced Soviet weapons and has been in service since 1981, tasking with intercepting and destroying many strategic targets from a distance.

Four MiG-31s can fly over 800 km of airspace, suitable for the vast Soviet airspace.
