"The incident occurred when the helicopter accidentally dropped the AN / AQS-235 system into the waters at the training ground. No soldiers were injured, the helicopter was not damaged. We considered this an incident.

The U.S. Navy did not make a public announcement about the device drop, it was only mentioned in the incident list of the Maritime Safety Center (NSC), which tracks major naval and marine accidents.

NSC marked the fall of this device as a Group A incident, which caused damage to assets of more than $ 2 million.

AN / ASQ-235 is specially used for clearing underwater mines or suspended in water.
