The Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs opened a campaign to review foreigners nationwide and promote support for victims of human trafficking activities.

Kheang Phoearum, spokesman for the provincial government of Sihanoukville, today said officials are strengthening patrol and control measures to deal with human trafficking and criminal gangs to the country to the country.

We will make every effort to investigate, search the culprit and punish according to the regulations, Pheearum said.

This is part of the recent human trafficking campaign launched by Cambodian officials.

Mr. Sar Khung declared that officials would focus on finding foreigners who were victims of human traffickers.

The Cambodian police arrested a number of suspects with accusations of human trafficking, many victims were also put into protection.

However, after coming to Cambodia, the victims were forced to do illegal jobs, not as they agreed.

General Chhay Sinarith, Deputy Commander of the National Police, said that the authorities in recent years have discovered many online recruitment plots to attract illegal workers, and arrest hundreds of people from China and the island.
